to Speed Up RAM
In the world of computers, the term RAM is used in a variety of ways.
For example, a DVD burner is sometimes known as DVD RAM. But commonly,
RAM is used to pertain to the RAM chip or memory chip, which is an
essential part of a computer.
Over time, there have been many different RAM chips that have been
developed. Each new generation is faster than its predecessors. With
this fact, it would be safe to say that one way to speed up RAM is to
upgrade it to a new one.
But it is not easy to speed up RAM by upgrading it. Other than the fact
that it involves some technicalities, there are also compatibility
issues that one should be aware of.
An older motherboard, more often than not, is not compatible with newer
RAM chips. So to speed up RAM through an upgrade entails the
possibility of purchasing a new motherboard. And if you are not that
lucky, a new processor, compatible with the new motherboard and new RAM
might also be needed.
Other Ways to Speed Up PC Memory
There are other ways though to speed up RAM without resorting to
purchasing a new RAM chip. It requires some tweaking of settings
though, which requires some knowledge about your current hardware.
This method is also limited to users who have motherboards with BIOS
that allows this kind of tweak. It involves going to the BIOS setup
page to change some settings to speed up RAM. Again a word of advice,
do not do this unless you really have a very good idea of what you are
doing.
For those whose BIOS are not capable of tweaks and for the
“technically challenged” who do not have the
slightest idea what to do, despair not. There are software in the
market that can speed up RAM with just a few clicks of a button.
These software function in such a way that they optimize the use of
your RAM. Instead of being used inappropriately by other software,
these applications speed up RAM by letting it reach its full potential.
Some of the best software that speed up RAM have price tags on them.
But mind you, it is STILL cheaper (and far less technical to use!) than
buying a new RAM chip.
