If Adobe Photoshop CS2 Freezes and You Cannot Terminate It Using the Task Manager
Note: These steps may differ slightly depending on the OS you have installed.
- Disable Startup items and services.
- Quit all open applications.
- Go to the Windows Start menu and then click Run.
- Enter msconfig and then click the OK button
- Click the Services tab and remember all unselected items.
- Click the General tab.
- Choose Selective Startup.
- Uncheck the Load Startup Items option. But, make sure that the Process SYSTEM.INI File, the Process WIN.INI File, and the Load System Services options are checked.
- Go to the Services tab and then select the Hide All Microsoft Services option.
- Select Disable All button.
- Then, click the OK button.
- Restart Windows.
- If there are icon(s) that still appear on the Windows Notification Area, right-click these icons to close any startup applications that may still be active.
