Black Friday Winners: Wal-Mart and Amazon
Today is Cyber Monday, typically a day when employees shop online the day after the Thanksgiving/Black Friday weeekend. That said, reports are already coming in that we have two ONLINE retail winners for Black Friday: WalMart and Amazon.com. Apple, Target and Best Buy came in a very close second. All of these retailers did quite well for Black Friday online shopping, states analysts at comScore.
“Amazon.com, Walmart, and Apple.com’s worldwide sites saw their online-shopper numbers rise 28 percent, 22 percent and 39 percent, respectively, over Black Friday 2008. Target experienced a 2 percent increase, while Best Buy’s Websites saw a 24 percent rise,” stated eWeek.com.
That said, today marks Cyber Monday and the real test to see if the economy is back on the rise and if shoppers are truly going to make this a better year than the previous disasterous year. “Cyber Monday—the traditional kick-off to the online holiday shopping season—and the subsequent weeks will be the real test for how online retailers fare this season, Gian Fulgoni, chairman of comScore, wrote in a Nov. 29 statement.”
For continued shopping deals on all technology-related items, check out Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com and Apple.com.
