Windows 7 Ships October 22, 2009
A Microsoft spokesperson announced today the company will release their latest OS, Windows 7, on October 22nd. This much anticipated version has been the talk of IT blogs for months now and it seems many were correct in guessing the launch date.
InformationWeek reported that Microsoft contacted them via email and confirmed the launch date. “The spokesperson also said the company is launching a program called Windows Upgrade Option that will allow customers who bought Vista-powered PCs to upgrade to Windows 7.”
As reported here on PCAuthorities.com, Microsoft plans to have different “flavors” of Windows 7 including a personal at home edition all the way up to an Enterprise edition for companies.
For those who use the beta version of Windows 7, Microsoft plans to cripple/shut it down on July 1st.
