Windows Live Adds Birthdays And Other Features
Microsoft announced today that its Windows Live Calendar service will be adding birthday reminders and other services soon. According to CNET, “the online calendar, which still is in beta testing, also got a new user interface and some more options for printing, Microsoft said in a statement Wednesday.”
Microsoft mentioned what’s coming up in the next few days will be the ability to subscribe to online iCal-formatted calendars (iCal is a product of Apple) as well as support for holidays. Users of the Windows Live service will also be able to sync with their hotmail accounts as well.
Microsoft has been criticized lately because Apple seems to be taking the spotlight with its “cloud” services called MobileMe. MobileMe syncs a user’s calendars, contacts, bookmarks, user settings, and other features for the iPhone, Mac, PC and iPod. Microsoft has announced their “cloud technology” and has pushed several new features out as well to gain more of the market in this :cloud-pushing” world.
