How to Manually Put the Computer into Hibernation in Windows XP Professional
The Windows XP hibernation function allows you to save power when not using the computer for a while. But configuring the interval for hibernation to short is inconvenient as your PC might hibernate more than desired. So better leave the interval at a reasonable level and use the manual hibernation option to save power when you know you won’t need the PC for a while.
