How to Change Hardware Settings in MS Windows XP Professional

- Go to the Windows Start menu, click the Control Panel option, and then double-click the Phone and Modem Options.
- Choose the Modems tab and then click the modem to be configured.
- Select the Properties button and then select the Advanced tab.
- Click the Change Default Preferences option and then select the Advanced tab.
- Look for Hardware Settings and change the settings for Data bits, Parity, Stop bits, or Modulation options.
- Click the OK button three times.
