To Manually Put the Computer into Hibernation in Windows XP Professional:
- Go to the Windows Start menu, select the Control Panel option, and then double-click Power Options icon.
- Choose the Hibernate tab.
- Check the option Enable hibernation.
- Click the OK button.
- Then go to Windows Start menu, select the Shut Down icon.
- Select the option, What do you want the computer to do? to show list and then click the Hibernate option.
